The Tuesday session this week (28th September) is going ahead if there are sufficient numbers and you can book from here, as some of you have done already. If there are not enough to make for a proper challenge match, I an happy to offer a 90-minute tutorial or “play these hands with me” session. I am busy reorganising the group coaching sessions and will have the timetable of new courses and seminars available very soon. Face to face at Wytham or Charlbury may have to wait just a little longer, but the plans are advancing.
I am head down in finalising the production of the Investment Trusts Handbook, an annual publication of which I am the founder and editor. so this week, with many regulars not available or away, I am postponing the Tuesday morning supervised play session for one week. You can however book now for Tuesday week. I am hoping to reorganise the week’s teaching from the start of October, with a number of seminars and courses, plus some face to face play if there is sufficient support, and will be contacting every regular group and the Tuesday morning players to confirm times through the autumn. Back from two sunny weeks in France and despite a blizzard of form filling and test booking fighting fit and ready to restart a new autumn programme of bridge play and learning sessions. Because of the short notice, I do not know how many of you will be ready for a supervised play session on Tuesday 14th September, but if there are enough it will be going ahead, starting at 9.15am. Group coaching will also start again from Tuesday this week. I will also be posting details of additional seminars and investigating further the potential for face to face bridge at Wytham and in Charlbury, as promised.
As noted last week I am going to be on holiday for the next two weeks, so there will be no supervised play or challenge matches in that time, and no coaching sessions either – sorry! The next supervised play session will be on Tuesday 14th September starting at 9.15am. For the first time in over a year, there is going to be no supervised play on Tuesday morning (August 10th). I am out of commission and so too are many of you. Some group coaching sessions are going ahead however and you may be able to organise your own private game instead. It will be back to business as normal next week however and I have added a payment button for that (August 17th).

Because of other commitments I am proposing that the Tuesday morning supervised play session starts at 9.15am this week (July 27th 2021). I have included a payment option in this email, as normal, and there will also be one on the website.
Looking further ahead, now that restrictions are about to be lifted, the prospect of face to face bridge is coming nearer and nearer. The last hurdle to overcome is the risk that, even if we all assemble as double-vaccinated covid-free bridge players, we may still get caught by the “go isolate” rules from some third party app-detected contact until those restrictions are also lifted. For the moment therefore it looks like September rather than July for our first face to face session.
