As promised a couple of weeks ago, here are the details of how to sign up for the return of our weekly face to face supervised play sessions in Wytham Village Hall. The plan is to hold the first session on October 12th and run on from there every Thursday morning (10am until 12.30) until just before Christmas. If you are interested in joining us again for this rewarding event – and better still making it a regular visit – please mark your calendars.
A reminder that this is a chance to meet and play friendly bridge with a group of like-minded fun people, with expert supervision on hand. All standards except complete beginners are welcome – we can add you to a table with the right kind of opponents. Partners are not essential, although if you have a friend who might like to join you, do please encourage them to sign up as well, as having a partner makes it easier for us to guarantee you a game as soon as you arrive.
Play starts from 9.30 for early arrivals, but you can join any time up until 10am and leave whenever you need to. The sessions ends formally at 12.30. Tea, coffee and biscuits are all provided and included in the session fee. The cost is £15 per session for cash or bank transfer payment and £16 if you pay by card from here.
These are the three ways to pay:
(1) by direct bank transfer (email me to get the bank details, if you don’t already have them)
(2) via this website (there is a Paypal link below), or
(3) with cash on the day.
It is important to know in advance if you think you are likely to be coming, so I will also be sending out a Doodle poll to get a non-binding indication of how many might be coming to this and future sessions. Several of our regulars have already committed to come and kick start our return to Wytham.
I look forward to seeing you there. Wytham is just outside Oxford to the west of the A34 and can be reached with from the A34 (if heading north) or from the Wolvercote roundabout in north Oxford. Free parking is available in the Village Hall car park, although please do not park in the road, as that can cause problems for larger vehicles heading towards Wytham Woods.

I am happy to say that Andrew is coming to Oxford to host another charity bridge day in support of Rose Hill Junior Youth Club. The date is Tuesday 31st October and the event runs from 10am to 3pm, with two sessions of tutored play, and lunch in the middle (please arrive by 9.30am). The venue is Rose Hill Community Centre, Carole’s Way, Rose Hill OX4 4HF. Tickets are £65.
